After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Surry, Mount Airy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 36-25 victory over the Elkin Buckin' Elks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 40-27 back in January.

Da'Nya Mills was her usual excellent self, putting up nine points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carrie Marion, who posted eight points and three steals.

Mount Airy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Elkin, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Airy will square off against Alleghany at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mount Airy is facing Alleghany at the right time seeing as Alleghany is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Elkin, they will face off against South Stokes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
