The Taft Eagles will head out to square off against the Reavis Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Taft is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Taft took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Amundsen a 5-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

04/16/25 @ Von Steuben | 2 |
05/07/25 vs Amundsen | 1 |
Not much got past Carlos Gonzalez, who gave up just two hits to keep Amundsen off the board. Gonzalez also tossed a walk, which is notable because Taft is 5-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 10-13 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Wes Blitz was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. Evan Jocic also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Reavis hadn't done well against Bolingbrook recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Rams narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Raiders 5-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three matches in a row.
Will Swierczynski looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tino Villagomez, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Parker Zasada was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Reavis' record now sits at 18-9. As for Taft, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
