Basketball Game Preview: Grosse Ile Red Devils vs. Riverview Pirates + How To Watch

Grosse Ile is 0-10 against Riverview since February of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Red Devils will head out to square off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m.

Grosse Ile lost 49-29 to Summerfield on Thursday.

Meanwhile, after only 20 points in their last game, Riverview made sure to put some points up on the board against Westfield Prep on Friday. The Pirates pulled ahead with a 55-54 photo finish over the Warriors.

Riverview's win came from a few key players Grosse Ile will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caiya Hunter, who went 8-for-15 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Those eight boards gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie Ortiz, who posted 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

The victory got Riverview back to even at 1-1. As for Grosse Ile, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Grosse Ile was dealt a bruising 55-25 defeat at the hands of Riverview in their previous meeting back in January. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
