Shawnee scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Lima Senior Spartans as the Shawnee Indians made off with a 20-4 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Shawnee considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Addie Melson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Melson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Melson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Anna Menke was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Gabby Jones was another key contributor, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
