Volleyball Recap: Cheyenne Mountain Falls Short Against Ranked Discovery Canyon

Cheyenne Mountain faced Discovery Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Red-Tailed Hawks fell 3-1 to the Thunder. The Red-Tailed Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunder earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

The final score came out to 25-12, 21-25, 25-9, 25-17.

Cheyenne Mountain's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ezra Sanchez, who had 13 digs and one assist, and Lleyton MacDonald, who had seven digs. Sanchez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last 12 games he's played.

Cheyenne Mountain moved to 15-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Discovery Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
