Softball Recap: Polo Comes Up Short

Polo is still winless after their game against West Carroll on Saturday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Thunder. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Marcos of the 13-12 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

Izabella (Bella) Witkowski made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Polo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for West Carroll, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.

Coincidentally, Polo and West Carroll will both be playing Morrison the next time they take the field. The Thunder will head out to face the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Marcos will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
