Basketball Recap: First Baptist Christian vs. Marquette Manor Baptist Academy Minutemen
First Baptist Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past Marquette Manor Baptist Academy 38-36. That's another feather in the cap for First Baptist Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Minutemen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Mukenschnabl, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mukenschnabl has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Adeoti, who scored eight points.
First Baptist Christian's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Marquette Manor Baptist Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
First Baptist Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marquette Manor Baptist Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Tabernacle Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
