Basketball Recap: Pipestone Takes a Loss

Pipestone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Marshall Tigers an easy 76-50 win. While losing is never fun, the Arrows can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Tigers are ranked 11th).

Pipestone's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Marshall, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Pipestone will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Redwood Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Marshall, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Jackson County Central at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. One thing working in Marshall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.
