Last Tuesday, Sandhills/Thedford was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-50 to Ansley/Litchfield. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sandhills/Thedford in their matchups with Ansley/Litchfield: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, Shelton put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 89-52 win over Wilcox-Hildreth. The result was nothing new for Shelton, who have now won six contests by 33 points or more so far this season.
Shelton had a senior duo take command as Riley Bombeck scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists and Ashton Simmons scored 27 points along with three steals. The match was Simmons' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ben Myers, who scored ten points.
Sandhills/Thedford's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1. As for Shelton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
