Baseball Recap: Laurel Beats Fort Cherry for Their Third Straight Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Laurel walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Fort Cherry Rangers 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since April 1st.

JJ McBride was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Kissick, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

The win was the third in a row for Laurel, bringing their record up to 9-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Fort Cherry, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Laurel beat the Rangers by a score of 4-3 later that day.
