Basketball Recap: Otsego Knights vs. Eastwood Eagles
The Otsego Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 45-35 to Eastwood. Otsego has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their contest on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Otsego saw an underclassman step up: Cailyn Rider almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rider has scored all season. Jocelyn Cornell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Otsego's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-17. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.7 points per game. As for Eastwood, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Otsego will take on the Green Bears at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastwood, they will be playing at home against the Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
