Softball Preview: Buckeye Bucks vs. Highland Hornets

Buckeye has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Highland Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buckeye is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

In what's become a running theme this season, Buckeye gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Padua Franciscan as Buckeye made off with a 10-2 win. Ten seems to be a good number for Buckeye as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kelsey Metter was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kwynn Czerwony, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and a triple.

Meanwhile, Highland came up short against Aurora on Tuesday and fell 7-3. Highland has not had much luck with Aurora recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Buckeye has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4-1.
