Softball Recap: Canyon Lake Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Anthony last Thursday, Canyon Lake came back down to earth. Canyon Lake fell just short of the Blanco Panthers by a score of 6-5 on Saturday.

Canyon Lake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rianna Gonzales, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those stolen bases marked the first that Gonzales stole this season. Liza Schexneyder was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Canyon Lake's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Blanco, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Canyon Lake will take on Comfort in a tournament on Saturday. As for Blanco, they will take on Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
