            Football Recap: Deer Valley Wolverines vs. Antioch Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Deer Valley extended their losing streak  to three  on Friday, dropping them down to 4-3. They fell  25-14 to the Antioch Panthers. If the Wolverines were looking for revenge after losing  20-14 to the Panthers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
When it comes to explaining why Deer Valley lost, don't look at  Anias Hightower. Despite the final result, he rushed for 73 yards and one  score on only six carries. Hightower's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
 While Deer Valley came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Antioch: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 50%. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for the Wolverines; they were averaging 60.7%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 60.7%.
As for Antioch, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.5 points on average over those games.
 Antioch found their leader in sophomore  Joshua Mason, who rushed for 129 yards and one  TD on only 12 carries, and also threw for 123 yards and one  touchdown.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Deer Valley is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Pittsburg  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Antioch will  face off against  rival Heritage  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
