Ridgeline was handed a nine-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mead 13-11. The high-scoring effort was just what the Falcons needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Quincy Coder was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilley Triplett, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cheney posted their closest win since April 26, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Lewis & Clark 4-3.
Maddy Hurley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mia Ashcroft, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Millie Beito was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Ridgeline is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Cheney, their record is now 7-12.
Ridgeline might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Cheney in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
