Football Recap: SEED Has No Trouble Against Francis Scott Key

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only SEED walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 30-14 victory over the Francis Scott Key Eagles on Friday. The Sabers pushed the score to 30-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

SEED found their leader in sophomore Malcom Smith, Jr, who threw for 218 yards and three TDs. Smith, Jr's passing game has become a key predictor of the Sabers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 3-4 otherwise.

SEED's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Francis Scott Key, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, SEED will face off against Pikesville on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Sabers surely won't give up without a fight. Francis Scott Key does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
