Recap: Community Baptist Christian Cougar vs. Indiana Christian Academy Whirlwinds
The Community Baptist Christian Cougar's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against Indiana Christian Academy by a score of 64-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Community Baptist Christian to victory were Layne Cook and Jay Clifton. Cook scored 26 points along with five assists, while Clifton scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clifton has scored all season. Daviea Jones was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 13 rebounds.
Indiana Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sawyer Tipton, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Tipton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Plew, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Community Baptist Christian's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for Indiana Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
Community Baptist Christian on the road again on Friday and play against Portage Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Portage Christian is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Indiana Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northpoint HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
