Volleyball Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

Foothill lost against Shasta back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Foothill ultimately came up short, they really made Shasta work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-13, 22-25, 25-15.

Foothill's offense was headlined by Quinn Kacalek and Elayna Hess, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Jaymes Arnold and her 17 assists. Gabbriella Vega Sanchez controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Olivia Sutter was a one-woman wrecking crew For Shasta. as she had 13 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Sutter has posted since back in September.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Shasta, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Foothill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Chico on the 21st. As for Shasta, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Pleasant Valley on the 21st.
