Preview: T.R. Miller Tigers vs. W.S. Neal Eagles
The T.R. Miller Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the W.S. Neal Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (T.R. Miller is ranked 332nd, while W.S. Neal is ranked 336th).
T.R. Miller struggled with assists on Thursday (Escambia County had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. T.R. Miller fell 54-42 to Escambia County. T.R. Miller has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, T.R. Miller had strong showings from Heath Kirkland, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, and Jaylen Griffey, who scored ten points along with two steals. Kirkland continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Tayki Askew was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, W.S. Neal's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 62-45 bruising from Hillcrest.
T.R. Miller's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-10. As for W.S. Neal, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
T.R. Miller came up short against W.S. Neal in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 55-47. Can T.R. Miller avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
