Football Recap: Legacy Takes a Loss

Legacy's last matchup with South Gate could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Tigers took a blow against the Rams, falling 48-8. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.

Jeremiah Gomez threw for 90 yards on four of nine attempts. Daniel Baca was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards. On the ground, Jason Rodriguez rushed for 81 yards and one score.

Michael Gonzalez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Gate, rushing for 71 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 279 yards and two TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. Those 71 rushing yards gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Nicholas Quintanilla was Gonzalez's top target, picking up 194 receiving yards and one score.

This is the second loss in a row for Legacy and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for South Gate, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
