Soccer Game Preview: Locust Grove vs. Inola

The Locust Grove Pirates will head out to take on the Inola Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Locust Grove is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Dove Science Academy on Tuesday. They came up short against the Raptors, falling 7-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Locust Grove were already down 6-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Zander Messer, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Inola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to Regent Prep.

Locust Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Inola, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Locust Grove suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Inola when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
