Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ames). They came out on top against the Lincoln Lynx by a score of 28-21 on Friday. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Little Cyclones were down 21-7 in the second quarter.
When it comes to explaining why Lincoln lost, don't look at Braylin De Jager. Despite the final result, he picked up 123 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Lynx are 2-1 when De Jager posts 100 or more receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
Ames' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Lincoln, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
