Softball Recap: LaVergne Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for LaVergne's offense. They came up short against the Cookeville Cavaliers on Thursday, falling 14-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Cavaliers: they've now lost four in a row.

LaVergne's record is now 1-12. As for Cookeville, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.

LaVergne and Cookeville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Wolverines (ranked 285th) will meet Stewarts Creek (ranked 38th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Cookeville will take on Halls at 8:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (187 vs. 13).
