The Corner Canyon Chargers will take on the Herriman Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Corner Canyon earned a 78-68 win over Mountain Ridge. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Sentinels are ranked 44th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Corner Canyon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Bendinger, who posted 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven boards gave Bendinger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Roberts, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points and three steals.
Corner Canyon was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Herriman had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Tuesday. They managed a 69-65 victory over the Miners.
Corner Canyon better keep an eye on Cale Barclay. He was instrumental in Herriman's win, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Barclay's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Stockton Blanchard was another key player, putting up 15 points.
Corner Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Herriman, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Corner Canyon has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Herriman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Corner Canyon suffered a grim 71-49 defeat to Herriman when the teams last played back in January. Will Corner Canyon have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
