Perry-Lecompton faced Sabetha in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Kaws lost 19-10 to the Bluejays. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Kaws' highest-scoring match to date.

Macie Corcoran made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Trimble, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Perry-Lecompton dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Sabetha, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bluejays beat Perry-Lecompton by a score of 14-4 later that day.
