Basketball Recap: George Washington Comes Up Short

George Washington played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 66-22 loss at the hands of the Fossil Ridge SaberCats. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-8.

George Washington's loss came despite strong showings from Jordan Lagasse and Madisyn Honeycutt. Lagasse posted 11 points, while Honeycutt put up no points. Those 11 points gave Lagasse a new career-high.

Fossil Ridge was led to victory by Gianna Leone and Maddie Kubat. Leone had 15 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Kubat earned ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hayes, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

George Washington is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Fossil Ridge, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

George Washington will take on La Salle in a holiday battle at at 6:40 p.m. on December 18th. As for Fossil Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-29 victory against Eaton on the 12th.
