Baseball Recap: Grandview Comes Up Short

Grandview entered their match against Smithville on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs lost 15-5 to the Warriors. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Ethan Terry was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Grandview: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-9-2 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Grandview and nudges their season record down to 10-10-2. As for Smithville, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grandview will head out to face off against Kearney at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Smithville, they will venture away from home to challenge Shawnee Mission South at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
