Volleyball Recap: Mount Vernon Find Success

Mount Vernon lost to Sulphur Bluff back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bears.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Mount Vernon who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 12-25, 17-15.

Mount Vernon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sulphur Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Mount Vernon will square off against Sulphur Springs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sulphur Bluff, their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on North Lamar at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
