Thomas Jefferson came into Friday's game looking for another win against Montbello, but Amari Williams wouldn't allow it. The Warriors took down the Spartans 35-19 on Friday thanks in part to Williams, who rushed for 236 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. He is becoming a predictor of Montbello's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 3-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't).

The win (which was Montbello's third in a row) raised their record to 4-6. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.7 points over those games. As for Thomas Jefferson, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5.

Montbello and Thomas Jefferson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Warriors will square off against Vista Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (100 vs. 35). Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson (ranked 104th) will meet Riverdale Ridge (ranked 30th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
