It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Springfield had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Aurora Greenmen with a sharp 12-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Springfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Aurora, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 26-3 record.

Coming up, Springfield will face off against Madison Comprehensive at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. Aurora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
