Softball Recap: Arizona College Prep Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Arizona College Prep entered their tilt with Valley Christian on Saturday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Trojans. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Liliana Gagnon tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rachel Cain, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby O'Donnal, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Arizona College Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Arizona College Prep's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Valley Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-2-1 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arizona College Prep will head out to face off against Campo Verde at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Seton Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
