Ashley is 9-1 against North Brunswick since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Ashley Screaming Eagle will head out on the road to face off against the North Brunswick Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Ashley came up into this matchup off a tough 38-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Topsail by a score of 59-56 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Screaming Eagle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Pirates are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, North Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Laney.

Ashley will need to focus on slowing down Mariah Bell, one of several North Brunswick players who made an impact when they last played. She almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Bell has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Gomez, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

North Brunswick's record is now 3-16. As for Ashley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Ashley was able to grind out a solid win over North Brunswick in their previous matchup last Wednesday, winning 51-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ashley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
