The Riverside Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the West Scranton Invaders at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. West Scranton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverside, who comes in off a win.
Riverside will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Western Wayne on Friday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Wildcats. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by nine runs or more this season.

Connor McNally was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Cooper Borowski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jose Sosa was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, West Scranton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Wallenpaupack Area, falling 15-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Invaders have suffered against the Buckhorns since April 5, 2022.
West Scranton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Selemba, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Riverside pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for West Scranton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Riverside couldn't quite get it done against West Scranton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
