Football Recap: Sachse Triumphs

Sachse's game on Friday was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 23-19 victory over the Garland Owls. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Owls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Sachse can attribute much of their success to Dirk Williams Jr., who rushed for 96 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Sam Marshall and Saint Dickens certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Marshall rushed for 52 yards and one touchdown, while Dickens picked up 92 receiving yards and one TD. Dickens really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 92 yards. Carlos Mojica was another key player, having thrown for 259 yards and onetouchdown.

Sachse now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Garland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Sachse and Garland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Mustangs (ranked 160th) will meet Wylie (ranked 343rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Garland will challenge South Garland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (356 vs. 912).
