Volleyball Game Preview: Mentor Cardinals vs. Kenston Bombers

The Mentor Cardinals will venture away from home to take on the Kenston Bombers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mentor has three straight victories, Kenston has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Mentor will bounce into Monday's game after beating Chardon, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Hilltoppers with a sharp 3-0 win on Saturday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Mentor was: they took every set by at least 25 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

Meanwhile, Kenston didn't have quite enough to beat North on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Bombers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rangers 25-13 in the first set.

Kenston actually scored more points across those five sets (109-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-23, 19-17.

Mentor's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. As for Kenston, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
