Faith Baptist took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They strolled past Springfield Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 48-30. The Eagle are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 17 straight dating back to last season.

Faith Baptist's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matilyn Fournier, who posted two points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. Those eight boards gave Fournier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Cunningham, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Faith Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 17 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Despite the defeat, Springfield Christian Academy had strong showings from Colbie Combs, who put up 12 points, and Kaylin Zettle, who had eight points and seven rebounds.

Springfield Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Faith Baptist wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-36 victory against Immanuel Baptist on the 7th. As for Springfield Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 31-27 win against Rochester Hills Christian on the 10th.
