Football Game Preview: Keys Cougars vs. Chelsea Dragons

The Keys Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Chelsea Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keys has given up an average of 32.7 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Keys challenged Salina on Friday. The Cougars had to suffer through a 56-25 loss at the hands of the Wildcats.

Keys' defeat came about despite a quality game from Ryder Davis, who rushed for 106 yards and two TDs on only ten carries. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Treveon Guthrie, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-6, which was the final score in Chelsea's tilt against Wyandotte on Friday. The Dragons have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Keys' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Chelsea, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Keys strolled past Chelsea when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 33-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
