Basketball Recap: Hernando Christian Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Academy at the Lakes, Hernando Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 44-18 margin over the Real Life Christian Academy Raptors. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Hernando Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kensington Claus out in front who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Collins, who had six points and five steals.

Several Raptors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yamaris Almonte, who put up five points. Another player making a difference was Leylanie Rosier, who posted three points and five rebounds.

Hernando Christian Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Real Life Christian Academy, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hernando Christian Academy will take on First Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Real Life Christian Academy, they will challenge Liberty Christian Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Real Life Christian Academy is facing Liberty Christian Prep at the right time seeing as Liberty Christian Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
