Soccer Game Preview: Mariner vs. Lake Stevens

The Mariner Marauders are taking a road trip to take on the Lake Stevens Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mariner's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Mariner and Cascade finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Lake Stevens put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Glacier Peak. That's two games straight that Lake Stevens have won by just one goal.

Lake Stevens' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. Mariner's draw makes their record 2-3-2 this season.

Mariner couldn't quite get it done against Lake Stevens in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
