Football Game Preview: Elizabeth Cardinals vs. Brush Beetdiggers

Two dominant backs in Tristan McCray and Ritchie Bruno are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Elizabeth Cardinals will host the Brush Beetdiggers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Elizabeth sitting on four straight wins and Brush on ten.

Griffin Widhalm was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Andrew Martinez was in the mix too, providing Elizabeth with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Elizabeth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Brush got the win against Delta on Saturday by a conclusive 28-7. Considering the Beetdiggers have won seven contests by more than 20 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Elizabeth's record now sits at 8-2. As for Brush, their record is now 10-0.
