Softball Recap: Temple Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Temple finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs, falling 12-2. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldawgs earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Temple saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was London Armour, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Temple now has a losing record of 11-12-2. As for Copperas Cove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-11.

Temple and Copperas Cove could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge Harker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (351 vs. 169). Meanwhile, Copperas Cove (ranked 184th) will meet Midway (ranked 11th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
