Recap: Central Valley Falcons vs. University Prep Panthers
The Central Valley Falcons and the University Prep Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Central Valley Falcons had to settle for second. Central Valley was dealt a 39-6 loss at the hands of University Prep. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central Valley in their matchups with University Prep: they've now lost five in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Darren Maples, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also caught a touchdown. Maples was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. Sawyer Hokanson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Central Valley now has a losing record at 5-6. As for University Prep, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Central Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. University Prep will be playing at home against Lassen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lassen is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
