Softball Recap: Spencer County Bears vs. Shelby County Rockets        
        
		
            
 Spencer County can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game  on Thursday. They came out on top against the Shelby County Rockets by a score of  12-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Spencer County considering their two-run performance the  match before.
  Riley Booth spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two  runs (both of which were unearned)  on four hits. It was the first time this season that  she  pitched five or more  innings.
 At the plate,  Brooklyn Hunt was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.  Lilly Long was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4.
 On Shelby County's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kelsey Sasser, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Spencer County's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Shelby County, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost six of their last eight matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record  this season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spencer County will take on North Bullitt at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Shelby County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Danville at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
