The Susquehannock Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Kennard-Dale Rams at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Susquehannock sitting on four straight wins and Kennard-Dale on eight.
On Wednesday, Susquehannock was able to grind out a solid victory over Spring Grove, taking the game 4-1.

Ella Wetzel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sofia Deffendall, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Nora Salla, who scored two runs and stole two bases.
Meanwhile, Kennard-Dale owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Eastern York 1-0. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by just one run.
Taryn Ashenfelter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Ashenfelter was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double.
Ashenfelter wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Rinaudo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Rinaudo hit this season.
Kennard-Dale's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Susquehannock, their record is now 5-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Susquehannock has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Kennard-Dale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Susquehannock came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennard-Dale when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
