Soccer Game Preview: Gilbert Classical Academy vs. Santa Cruz Valley

The Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans will challenge the Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Monday, Gilbert Classical Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Horizon Honors and fell 2-1. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their goal came courtesy of Ian Marshall, who's now up to 17 this season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Santa Cruz Valley's offense. They lost 4-0 to San Miguel on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Dust Devils in their matchups with the Vipers: they've now lost three in a row.

Gilbert Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Santa Cruz Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
