Soccer Recap: Richlands Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Richlands walked away with it. They skirted past the Southeast Alamance Stallions 1-0. Given Richlands' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Southeast Alamance are ranked 180th) , the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richlands' one-goal win came courtesy of Kamrey Watkins, who's now up to 59 this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Richlands and bumps their season record up to 18-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Southeast Alamance, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8-4.

Richlands didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 loss against Southern Nash on the 18th. Southeast Alamance does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
