Soccer Recap: Hickory Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Hickory kept a clean sheet against Maiden on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Blue Devils. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Hickory's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Maiden are ranked 459th).

LOGAN MOUA was the driving force of Hickory's attack as he scored both of Hickory's goals, bringing his season total up to eight goals.

Hickory has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six games. As for Maiden, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hickory will square off against rival West Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Maiden is set to challenge their familiar foe Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on October 2.
