Softball Recap: Eufaula Takes a Loss

Eufaula was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ariton Purple Cats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since February 15, 2025.

Eufaula saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Leigh Bloom, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. Yamyah Fryer was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Eufaula's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Ariton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Eufaula will be taking part in a tournament against Dothan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ariton, they will take on Geneva County in a tournament on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Purple Cats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
