Baseball Game Preview: San Antonio HomeSchool Wolverines vs. San Antonio Christian Lions

The San Antonio HomeSchool Wolverines are taking a road trip to challenge the San Antonio Christian Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Antonio HomeSchool will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

On Tuesday, San Antonio HomeSchool needed a bit of extra time to put away New Braunfels Thunder. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Homeschool. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since March 17th.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Antonio Christian). They came out on top against St. Joseph by a score of 19-14 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won three matches in a row.

Noah Grant was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five RBI and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Flores, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

San Antonio Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .596. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

San Antonio Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for San Antonio HomeSchool, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-16-1.

San Antonio HomeSchool came out on top in a nail-biter against San Antonio Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
