Millard North extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Clara Welker. The Millard North Mustangs came out on top against the Marian Crusaders by a score of 53-43 on Thursday thanks in part to Welker, who went 8 of 9 on her way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Izzie Galligan, who posted 12 points and five assists. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Marian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elsa Vedral, who earned 15 points. Another player making a difference was Paige Miller, who put up nine points and three steals.

Millard North pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Marian, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Millard North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-41 victory against Harrisburg on the 31st. As for Marian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-45 win against Lincoln Southwest on the 4th.
